Love Letters to Turbulence

Overview

A website project build collaboratively with Vancouver artist, Angela Fama. The project was a made up of both physical and digital elements, exploring the affects and effects of trauma. The project was built over few years and was launched as an exhibit at THIS_ gallery located in Vancouver, BC. One main goal of the exhibit was to create ongoing space(s) for individuals to participate / respond / engage around the topic of trauma. Working with Angela to realize her idea was a rewarding experience in both technical challenges as well as how to create an artistic space to convey a story.

My role was focused on the website part (digital container) of the project, which allow individuals to post simple stories anonymously dealing with trauma. Users can submit stories in 3 ways; about their own trauma, how they see or use support mechanisms with trauma, or simply how they heal from traumatic events. The design is reflects the creative illustration the project & show uses. The project uses a headless CMS to record the stories with a PHP/JS front-end.
